Die Stiftung bezweckt die Unterstützung von Personen, Institutionen und Projekte im In- und Ausland, die in gemeinnütziger Weise karitativ, humanitär, gesundheitsfördernd, erzieherisch, wissenschaftlich oder kulturell tätig sind. Die Stiftung bezweckt insbesondere Institutionen und Projekte zu unterstützen, die sich um die Integration von Arbeitslosen in den ersten Arbeitsmarkt kümmern. Diese Institutionen sollen nach marktwirtschaftlichen Kriterien Arbeitsmöglichkeiten schaffen und damit möglichst den Steuerzahler entlasten. Sie sollen ausserdem das generelle Ziel verfolgen, dass Arbeitslose mit einer marktwirtschaftlich sinnvollen Tätigkeit langfristig ihren eigenen Lebensunterhalt verdienen und damit ihre Würde und das Gefühl zurückgewinnen können, von der Gesellschaft gebraucht zu werden. Die Stiftung unterstützt zunächst die Stiftung für Arbeit, St. Gallen, und ihre operativen Unternehmen sowie deren allfällige Rechtsnachfolger. Daneben kann die Stiftung auch Tätigkeit, Programme und Projekte anderer Schweizer Institutionen im Bereich der Integration von Arbeitslosen unterstützen. Die Stiftung verfolgt öffentliche und gemeinnützige Zwecke; sie ist politisch und konfessionell neutral. Die Stiftung verfolgt keine kommerziellen Zwecke und erstrebt keinen Gewinn.
